If you are searching for someone to help advocate for your child, you most likely are already not seeing eye to eye with your school district. Having a lawyer on your side means assistance in taking the emotion out of the process, allowing you to focus on securing the appropriate education for your child; having the school district's decisionmakers at your meetings; showing the school district that you mean business; and consequently, having quicker resolutions to previously unresolvable issues.
Services
Phone Consultation
An initial consultation allows us to identify the immediate and long-term issues facing the child, assess the needs of the family, and plot an initial course of action without any unnecessary expenditure of large amounts of time and money.
Record Review and Initial Consult
A record review allows us to really understand the issues facing the child and family, to be able to give meaningful, accurate guidance to the family. During the initial consult, we will discuss where the child has been and where he is going; what kind of services he has had in the past and what he should be getting in the future; and finally, how best to get him those services. If you are seeking assistance in securing your child an appropriate education, this step is necessary prior to retaining us as a legal representative.
Legal Representation
Once the initial consult is complete, if the family feels that it needs or desires legal representation, we are available to represent the child in any meetings, hearings or in any other capacity that the family desires to have legal representation.
Other Legal Services
If your legal questions do not seem to match any of the above-mentioned services, please feel free to inquire as to whether we can help you. We have experience and knowledge of the law beyond special education advocacy and would be happy to assist you in any way we can.
